We have noticed a marked difference in the way the IRS will now deal with our accountants over client issues. Up to very recently we would often be able to resolve simple client issues without necessarily needing to go through the hassle of a power-of-attorney. We understand that the IRS can not disclose client issues without their permission, however some issues were able to be solved with a telephone call by knowing the problem and telling the IRS exactly what was wrong and how to fix it.
This isn't the case anymore. We believe the Internal Revenue Service is trending towards the IRS of old, which could mean headaches for taxpayers. With all the pressure to collect unpaid taxes, taxes which even the IRS deems uncollectible, it has begun to realize it can't give taxpayers (or their tax accountants) any more breaks. It's tax collection techniques did not keep up with some of the corporate (and individual) avarice of the 1990's.
Please visit our web site for more information on how we can help you with the IRS. Our tax accountants have an excellent success record in dealing with the Internal Revenue Service.
